Scaffolding safety to keep the following nine levels

Scaffolding is a crucial and essential component in the construction of buildings. When scaffolding fails, it can lead to severe injuries or even fatalities. Therefore, strict control and careful attention must be given to all aspects of scaffolding setup and maintenance. 1. **Material Check**: Ensure that all materials used meet the required quality standards, specifications, and types as specified in the guidelines. 2. **Size Check**: Set the spacing of vertical poles, crossbars, diagonal braces, and guardrails according to the design requirements. 3. **Plank Check**: The working platform must be fully covered with no gaps or protruding boards. Remove any debris regularly to keep the surface clean and safe. The thickness of the planks should be at least 5 cm. 4. **Guardrail Check**: On both sides of the scaffold and ramps, install 1-meter-high guardrails and safety nets on the outer side to prevent falls. 5. **Connection Check**: Install diagonal braces and supports as required. The scaffolding must be securely tied to the building structure, at least 7 cm away from the wall, to ensure stability and prevent shaking. 6. **Load Capacity Check**: The uniform load on the scaffold must not exceed 270 kg/m². Bricks can only be stacked on one side of the scaffold in three layers. For decorative scaffolding, the load limit is 200 kg/m². Other types of scaffolds (such as baskets, bridges, or towers) must be calculated and tested for load capacity. Overloading must be strictly avoided, and additional safety measures must be implemented if necessary. 7. **Access Check**: Workers must use designated access points such as slopes, walkways, or ladders to move up and down. Climbing the scaffold directly is strictly prohibited to avoid fall accidents. 8. **Beam Check**: When installing hanging baskets or footboards, ensure they are properly constructed and secured. Additional protective nets and support structures must be installed outside the basket area. The beams should be placed on a flat and solid surface. 9. **Inspection Check**: After the scaffolding is erected, the foreman must organize a joint inspection by the construction and usage teams. A proper acceptance process must be completed before the scaffolding is put into use. During operation, especially after strong winds or heavy rain, the stability of the scaffold must be checked regularly. Any issues found should be addressed immediately to maintain safety. For scaffolding over 10 meters high, an extra safety layer must be reserved on the working platform. If this is not possible due to material shortages, safety nets should be installed beneath the working level to prevent accidents. Safety is always the top priority in scaffolding work.
