According to a report by Forbes magazine on January 13, the US News Network (CNN) announced that the US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) will approve CNN test flights for use in news gathering drones.
Previously, CNN has been committed to legally using drones for news gathering. CNN executive David Vigilant said that there have been precedents similar to the use of helicopters to report news, so the FAA will allow us to flexibly use drones to deal with such unexpected events.
CNN has worked with the Georgia Tech Research Institute to study the information collection of drones. The FAA said it will analyze CNN's test information to develop rules for news reporting drones.
