In the first half of 2012, China’s paint production reached 5.437 million tons

Although the total amount of paint production and consumption in China ranks among the top in the world, there is still a long way to go before the paint industry in China, whether it is technology or industry maturity. In June 2012, China produced 1.049 million tons of paint, an increase of 5.46% year-on-year. According to the monitoring data of China Merchants Information Network, in the first half of 2012, the national paint output reached 5.437 million tons, an increase of 8.49% year-on-year.

From the perspective of the output of various provinces and cities, in the first half of 2012, the output of Guangdong Province's paint reached 1,039,900 tons, an increase of 9.14% year-on-year, accounting for 19.01% of the country's total production. Followed by Shanghai, Jiangsu Province and Zhejiang Province, which accounted for 13.12%, 11.74% and 8.83% of the total output respectively.
