Introduction to safe voltage that is harmless to the human body

The safe voltage, also known as the safety extra low voltage, refers to the voltage between the live conductors or between the live conductor and the grounding body that does not exceed a certain safety limit. Devices with a safe voltage are called Class III devices.

China's standard stipulates that the limit value of the effective value of the power frequency voltage is 50V, and the limit value of the DC voltage is 120V. China's standard also recommends: when the contact area is greater than 1cm2, the contact time exceeds 1s, the limit value of the effective value of the power frequency voltage in the dry environment is 33V, the DC voltage limit is 70V; the limit value of the effective value of the power frequency voltage in the humid environment is 16V, DC voltage limit is 35V. The limit is the highest voltage that can occur between any two conductors under any operating conditions.

China's standard stipulates that the rated value of the power frequency voltage is 42V, 36V, 24V, 12V and 6V. Hand-held power tools used in particularly hazardous environments should use a 42V safe voltage; hand-held and localized lights used in shock-hit environments should be 36V or 24V safe; in metal containers, in tunnels, in wells, and around Large-area grounding conductors and other working places with narrow working conditions, inconvenient environments or particularly humid environments should use a 12V safe voltage; for underwater operations, 6V safe voltage should be used. When electrical equipment uses a safety voltage of 24V or more, it is necessary to take direct protective measures against electric shock. Safety voltage A voltage that does not cause any damage to various tissues of the human body (such as the skin, heart, respiratory organs, and nervous system) when it is in contact with electricity. The regulations for safe voltage vary from country to country.

According to the specific environmental conditions, the safety voltage value of our country is 65V in buildings without high electric shock hazard; 36V in buildings with high electric shock hazard; 12V in buildings with special electric shock hazard.
