Funnel processing with standard cycle and variable programming in the iTNC530

Abstract: The free-form machining of the funnel shape is realized by the standard fixed cycle and variable calculation functions provided by the iTNC530 CNC system. The flexible combination of two programming methods reduces the number of machining blocks and freely controls the machining process, greatly improving the machining efficiency.

Through: these paper introduced the application of the machining-cycles and Q-Parameters in HEIDENHAIN iTNC530 control system. Through using these two functions, NC programs blocks were reduced dramatically and machining process can be adjusted and optimized, thus the efficiency are improved.

The iTNC530 CNC system is HEIDENHAIN's highest-end CNC system, which is widely used in five-axis, high-speed, high-precision boring and milling machines. In our company Mikron high-speed five-axis machining center, iTNC530 has become an indispensable assistant in our work with its powerful function, friendly operation interface and safety and stability.

The funnel-type workpiece shown in the following figure is a typical shape in our factory parts. We have been programming with CAM software. The programs generated by CAM are all short-line segment programs. The program capacity is large and the modification is troublesome. The same type of workpiece cannot be used. General.


Using the CYCLE 251 rectangular cavity machining cycle and variable calculation function provided by the iTNC530 CNC system, the machining point coordinates are automatically calculated. The layered machining realizes the same type of workpiece machining program. The workpieces with the same shape and different dimensions need only be modified slightly. The parameters are realized in general, and the tool compensation is automatically effective in the cycle, and the machining accuracy, process control, and convenient field modification have been greatly improved.

The cyclic programming function widely used in various types of numerical control systems realizes the basic principle of variable programming, and more in-depth understanding of variable programming, which can further understand the numerical control system and the machine tool itself. This paper introduces the algorithm and skill of using the iTNC530 system to realize the shape programming of the upper lower funnel.

I. Function introduction 1.1 Definition of Q parameters In the iTNC530 system dialog format programming environment, the Q parameter consists of a number between the letter Q and 0 to 1999. The Q parameters are divided into three categories:

It is mainly used to call the valid OEM cycle parameters and is valid for all programs in the TNC memory.

Q1400 to Q1499

It is mainly used to define the OEM cycle parameters that are in effect and is valid for all programs in the TNC memory.

Q1500 to Q1599

As can be seen from the above table, the end user tries to use the Q1600 to Q1999 parameters as much as possible to ensure that there will be no conflicts. However, depending on the software version, the assignment range of the Q parameters is not the same.
