Molybdenum is a trace element, and soybeans require 100 times more molybdenum than other crops. Molybdenum can promote the formation and growth of soybean nodules, increase the number of nodules, increase the volume of nodules, and increase the nitrogen fixation capacity, which in turn increases the chlorophyll content and enhances the photosynthetic capacity of soybean leaves. Molybdenum can also promote the growth of soybean roots, increase the absorption capacity of nutrients, and enhance drought resistance. Therefore, molybdenum has a significant effect on soybean growth and development, pod growth and grain weight increase.
Ammonium molybdate is a commonly used molybdenum fertilizer, which is generally used as a seed fertilizer, and can also be used as a foliar spray fertilizer. For the seed fertilizer, use 2 g of ammonium molybdate per kg of beans. Dissolve it in 5 times of hot water and stir well. Foliar spray fertilizer is sprayed with 0.05-0.1% ammonium molybdate solution at the initial flowering stage, generally 30-50 kg per mu.
Molybdenum is not easily leached and lost in the soil. Molybdenum is easily accumulated in the soil when the molybdenum is excessively applied or the molybdenum is often applied. The accumulation of more molybdenum may cause molybdenum poisoning in soybean plants. Therefore, the application of molybdenum should not be excessive, and it should not be applied in the same field for years.
