Pearl milk tea abused chemical additives

Business News, October 10th, Fujian Province, Ningde City, Jiaocheng District Administration for Industry and Commerce recently issued a consumption reminder: Pearl milk tea because of its unique taste loved by the majority of consumers, but consumers must be careful when eating pearl milk tea.

The person in charge of the Bureau of Commerce and Industry in Jiaocheng District, Ningde City, said that according to investigations, there are many pearl powdered teas on the market that are produced and blended with only a few powders. Some pearl milk teas even contain chemicals such as plastic, Glauber's salt, and industrial magnesium chloride.

First, milk tea does not contain milk. The three "magic weapons" for preparing pearl milk tea are creamer, "pearl" and saccharin. Cream is a vegetable oil extracted by chemical hydrogenation reaction, the main component is sugar, saturated fat and trans-fatty acids, does not contain milk calcium, Vitamins and other nutrients, low protein content, fat content is very high. The main component of the creamer hydrogenated vegetable oil is a trans-fatty acid, excessive drinking easily lead to drinkers susceptible to cardiovascular disease.

Second, "pearl" is made of "plastic". In order to make "Pearl" flexible and more "chews," most pearl milk tea in addition to adding cassava starch, but also added wheat protein, synthetic polymer materials, which is plastic.

Third, sweet is cyclamate. The key to milk tea is "sweetness." Among them, sodium cyclamate plays a decisive role. Some sodium cyclamate in the market is accompanied by the addition of Glauber's salt and industrial magnesium chloride, which will poison people for a long time. Glauber's salt is not a food additive. It is a raw material used to make laundry detergent. People's consumption of Glauber's salt causes symptoms such as stomach upset. In addition, eating industrial magnesium chloride may cause acute poisoning and chronic damage due to excessive heavy metals.

The responsible person pointed out that the regular production of Food Additives such as creamer and saccharin is not terrible. However, at present, many tea shops use low-quality creamers and saccharin in order to reduce costs. This is an illegal addiction and has great health hazards. At the same time, cyclamate, as an additive, cannot be added to children's foods, and milk tea is not within the range of foods to which cyclamate can be added.
