The new factory is located in the Zhengzhou Abrasives Industrial Park, within the Wuji County Industrial Cluster in Jiaozuo, Henan. With a total investment of 160 million yuan and a planned area of 100 mu, the company specializes in the production and sales of cubic boron nitride and its related products.
Zhou Chaoxin has been involved in the superhard materials industry since 1991. He worked under renowned experts such as Wang Guangzu and Wang Qinsheng, and later served as a catalyst researcher. During that time, he made significant contributions to the development of cubic boron nitride products. Over 24 years of research and development, he has published numerous academic papers on topics such as "Major Single Crystal Cubic Boron Nitride Manufacturing," "Golden Yellow Cubic Boron Nitride Research Method," and "High Oxygen Lower Catalyst Research."
Interestingly, during his research on CBN catalysts, Zhou also explored lithium iron phosphate battery materials and achieved notable results. In 2013, at a Beijing exhibition, he met with a partner who was developing lithium iron phosphate. Although the partner wanted to collaborate, Zhou suggested focusing on CBN instead, emphasizing its high technical value and future potential. He compared CBN's future to that of diamonds, which were once rarely used but now have explosive growth. After analyzing the market, the partner agreed, and within six months, the project moved from concept to reality.
At the start of their collaboration, Zhou and his partners focused on producing CBN as part of their strategic plan. They initially imported PCBN polycrystalline composite film technology, but soon realized that relying on external suppliers wasn't ideal. The first step was to produce CBN, followed by further product development.
Zhou’s approach to production is as rigorous and scientific as his research. At Zhongbo, the workshop layout is well-organized, with efficient production lines and properly placed equipment. The company has established an R&D headquarters and a quality inspection center, equipped with advanced instruments like the latest shape analyzer, TTI test equipment, and laser particle size analyzer, ensuring consistent product quality.
Looking ahead, the company is building a quality inspection center and plans to install 45 presses for medium-boron super-hard testing. Due to differences in the production process compared to diamond, they will run four presses in advance to train personnel and build up talent reserves. The goal is to steadily improve infrastructure and prioritize product quality in every stage of development.
