One of the main advantages of this assembly is its self-lubricating feature, which eliminates the need for frequent maintenance and reduces the reliance on oil supply systems. Additionally, it helps minimize environmental impact by preventing lubricant leakage. The bearing can withstand loads up to 90,000 psi (620 MPa), demonstrating exceptional wear resistance—only 13% of the wear rate compared to hardened steel in independent tests.
The assembly features an intact lip seal that effectively blocks out contaminants, while the zinc-coated steel housing maintains the seal integrity even in abrasive conditions. The bearing elements within the assembly can be either GGB's GAR-MAX or high-strength GAR-MAX (HSG) variants. The sliding layer consists of a combination of high-temperature epoxy PTFE and high-strength fiber resin, while the support layer is made from glass fiber bonded with high-temperature epoxy resin.
Available in a wide range of sizes, the bearing assembly accommodates shaft diameters from 1" to 4" (25mm to 100mm) and seat hole sizes ranging from 1.75" to 4.875" (41mm to 122mm). Custom non-standard components can also be manufactured based on specific customer requirements.
