At present, the yield and quality of China's main maize varieties cannot meet the needs of agricultural production development. The efficiency of corn breeding needs to be further improved. Launching the "super maize variety selection and industrialization development" project is a major measure to ensure national food security, sustainable agricultural development, and participation in international competition under the new situation.
Super-maize is a special crop variety with the main objective of super-high yield, combining high-quality, multi-resistance, wide-fitness, and easy-to-produce varieties. Super corn has five indicators: First, super-high yield, a small area of ​​more than 1 mu high-yield farmland to reach more than 1,000 kilograms; second, high-quality, to reach the national standard two or more; three is widely suitable for different corn ecological planting; four It is multi-resistance, resistance to various diseases and insect pests and a variety of unfavorable ecological factors; Fifth, it is easy to produce seeds, and the seed output reaches more than 500 kg/mu.
