Maintaining mining machinery is a critical and ongoing task that must be closely aligned with the machine's operation and upkeep. It is essential to have dedicated personnel on duty to ensure everything runs smoothly.
(1) Bearings play a vital role in the performance of mining equipment, as they support the full load of the machine. Proper lubrication significantly affects bearing life and, consequently, the overall lifespan and efficiency of the machinery. Therefore, the lubricating oil used must be clean, and all seals should remain intact to prevent contamination.
(2) Newly installed tires are prone to loosening and require regular inspection to ensure they remain secure during operation.
(3) It's important to monitor the functioning of all machine components regularly to detect any unusual behavior early on.
(4) Pay close attention to the wear on critical parts and replace them promptly when necessary to avoid breakdowns and costly repairs.
(5) The undercarriage plane of mobile machines should be cleared periodically to prevent the movable bearing from shifting on the chassis when encountering unbreakable materials, which could lead to serious accidents.
(6) If the bearing temperature rises abnormally, stop the machine immediately and investigate the cause before resuming operations.
(7) If you hear any unusual impact noises while the transmission gears are operating, stop the machine right away and inspect the issue. How to install and commission a vibrating screen for mining machinery? There are various types of vibrating screens, such as shaking screens, circular vibrating screens, resonance screens, and linear vibrating screens, each with different structures. Users should follow proper installation, usage, and maintenance procedures tailored to their specific screening equipment.
1. Preparations Before Installing a Vibrating Screen:
Before installing a new vibrating screen, it’s crucial to conduct a thorough inspection. Due to long storage times, issues like bearing rust or seal damage can occur during transport. Any faulty parts should be replaced. Additionally, if the vibration exciter was coated with anti-rust oil at the factory, it should be cleaned and replaced with proper lubricating oil before operation. Always read the manual carefully and prepare thoroughly before starting the installation process.
2. Installation of the Vibrating Screen:
(1) Install the support or suspension system first. Ensure the foundation is level and then assemble the components according to the provided drawings. Before installing the springs, select them based on the stiffness values marked on the ends.
(2) Attach the screen box to the support or suspension structure. After installation, adjust it to the specified angle. For suspended screens, both the inclination of the screen box and the horizontal alignment of the spindle should be adjusted. Start by correcting the horizontal level to eliminate any deflection, then adjust the longitudinal slope. The spring force should be evenly distributed, and this can be checked by measuring the compression. The compression of the two sets of springs at the feed end should be equal, as should those at the discharge end. However, the compression levels at the feed and discharge ends may vary slightly.
(3) Install the motor and the V-belt. Ensure the motor base is level, align the grooves of the pulleys, and adjust the tension of the belt appropriately.
(4) Secure the screen surface according to the specifications.
(5) Check the tightness of all connections (such as the screen plate and vibration exciter), and ensure the screen is evenly tensioned to prevent localized vibrations. Verify the lubrication of moving parts, confirm that the motor wiring is correct, and manually rotate the transmission to check for smooth operation.
(6) Ensure there are no collisions between the feed chute, discharge chute, and screen funnel during operation.
3. Testing the Vibrating Screen:
Once the screening machine is installed, perform an empty run test to evaluate the installation quality and make necessary adjustments.
(1) The initial test run should last at least 8 hours. During this time, observe whether the screen starts smoothly, operates steadily without unusual noise, and achieves the required amplitude as indicated by the amplitude card.
(2) During operation, the screen box should not exhibit any yawing. If it does, check for uneven spring heights, uneven tension in the suspension ropes, misalignment of the rotating shaft, or overly tight V-belts, and make the necessary corrections.
(3) Within the first 4 hours of operation, the bearing temperature should gradually rise and then stabilize. The maximum allowable temperature is 75°C, and the temperature increase should not exceed 40°C.
(4) If unusual noise occurs or the bearing temperature rises rapidly, stop the machine immediately. Check for any issues such as poor shaft flexibility or inadequate lubrication, and restart only after the problem is resolved.
(5) After 2–4 hours of operation, check all connecting parts for looseness. Tighten any loose components before continuing.
(6) If no faults are detected after 8 hours of testing, the installation can be considered complete and ready for use.
