What should you pay attention to when using new molds?

The new mold should be used with extreme care, as the mold has been carefully factory tested, but due to the small number of punches that have been punched, all the properties of the mold cannot be fully verified. To this end, you should pay attention to the following points:
1) Whether the mold shank and the feed screw on the mold are loose.
2) Whether the guide post and guide bush are clean and clean, and whether there is any lubricating oil; otherwise, clean and add clean lubricating oil. A higher viscosity lubricant such as 50# mechanical oil should be selected. When the mold is in use, the guide column should be refueled every 2 hours.
3) Since the motor cold die is a precision mold, the upper and lower planes of the mold frame should be free of burrs and debris. Otherwise, the parallelism of the upper and lower planes of the mold frame will be excessively poor, which will cause the burr of the punch to be out of tolerance.
4) If the position on the mold shank is not in close contact with the bottom plane of the slider due to the last mold loading, cracks are easily generated. If there is a crack, replace the mold shank. Otherwise, once the mold shank breaks, the mold will be scrapped or damaged.
5) Before installing the mold on the punching machine, confirm the following contents: Whether the diameter Φ of the punching hole of the punching machine is larger than the diameter Φd+50 of the cavity of the die holder or exceeds the diameter of the die core. If the above conditions are met, then the diameter of the leakage hole Φ should be reduced to prevent the mold from being deformed due to the poor rigidity of the system, resulting in excessive deformation of the mold burr, which affects the service life of the mold.
There are two ways to reduce the size of the leak hole:
1. In the case where the closing height of the punching machine is allowed, a pad can be added under the die. The leakage hole in the center of the pad is generally Φd+10~20mm; the parallelism of the lower two planes is 0.02/300mm.
Second, directly modify the diameter of the leakage hole of the punching machine, and change the diameter of the leakage hole to the required size.
