"Ultra-thin diamond wire wafer cutting machine" passed the expert acceptance

Abstract After years of dedicated research and development, the "Ultra-Thin Diamond Wire Wafer Cutting Machine" project under Jiangxi Province's strategic emerging industry R&D and guidance program has successfully completed all its objectives. On August 22nd, an official project acceptance meeting was held in Pingxiang City, marking a significant milestone in the advancement of high-tech manufacturing in the region. The meeting was chaired by Professor Duan Zhengcheng from Huazhong University of Science and Technology, who led a panel of nine experienced experts in evaluating the project's achievements.
The project, which focuses on developing cutting-edge technology for ultra-thin diamond wire wafer cutting machines, has made remarkable progress. During the acceptance meeting, experts reviewed detailed project reports, observed live demonstrations, examined supporting documentation, and engaged in in-depth discussions. They unanimously recognized the project as a breakthrough in China’s photovoltaic industry, with the newly developed machine being the first ultra-thin (120 micrometer) diamond wire cutting system in the country. Its cost is approximately 50% lower than comparable foreign models, and it offers technical performance that matches international standards. This innovation is expected to challenge foreign market dominance and accelerate the transition from traditional mortar-based cutting methods to advanced diamond wire technology, promoting greener and more efficient production processes.
The project team has successfully developed a comprehensive system covering the design, process, and control of the ultra-thin diamond wire wafer cutting machine. Key innovations include the implementation of a dual-spindle roller structure, which significantly reduces wire jumping and enhances equipment stability. The winding system has been optimized to minimize diamond wire distortion during transitions, while the control system has been upgraded to enable real-time monitoring of cutting speed and feed rate, improving overall efficiency and reliability. Additionally, an ultrasonic automatic filtering system was introduced to enhance the utilization of cutting fluid, further contributing to the machine’s environmental and economic benefits.
The event attracted participation from leading figures and experts across multiple sectors, including representatives from the China Electronics Technology Group, Huazhong University of Science and Technology, the Jiangxi Provincial Department of Science and Technology, Nanchang University, Central South University, Jiangxi Normal University, the Jiangxi Provincial Machinery Industry Office, the Jiangxi Mining Machinery Research Institute, the Pingxiang Municipal Government, and various local government departments. Their presence underscored the importance of the project and the broader implications for technological advancement and industrial development in the region.
